WORSHIP
Worship at Brookside Ministries Church –
At Brookside Ministries Church (BMC for short) we have a corporate blended worship style, leaning toward contemporary that is saturated in holiness while utilizing traditional hymns. Our service features songs of praise and worship, and occasional special music from individuals.
The Worship Service here at BMC embodies a balance of important and powerful Truths from the Old and New Testaments. The followers of Christ that make up BMC, strive to be purposeful in honoring the wholeness of God’s Word (Luke 4:8). Today’s culture there is a theme of emotionalism that is here today and gone tomorrow. Corporately, BMC believes the Truth of God is everlasting and not just emotional. Understanding this we too know that God gave us emotions for a reason (2 Timothy 1:7). The Christ followers at BMC understand that our worship is not just on Sundays but is an everyday lifestyle (Psalm 16:7; 63:6: 119:48).
When you enter the church building you’re greeted with an atmosphere like a family reunion. At 10:30 am when we corporately gather you’ll hear our BMC family announcements. After that we’ll stand for the weekly reading of God’s Word. Pastor Jerry greets everyone with the knowledge that we are one local church, only part of the greater Church (John 17). He’ll continue as the senior leader of BMC with an opening communal prayer (Numbers 6:22-27). Members of the worship team will blow the Shofar (Deuteronomy 30:2; Numbers 10:9; Luke 23:46). Everything up to this point aids us as followers of Christ to focus our hearts and minds on the things of God, to honor and exalt God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7; Matthew 28:19).
After that, Pastor Jonny or one from his team will lead us in a style of worship music that is contemporary, biblical and victory mined that aids all in attendance to rise to their place of Authority in Christ Jesus (Mark 13:34; Acts 3:6; Mark 16:17-18) and wiping off the spiritual wounds(Isaiah 53:4-5) that hinder us to fulfill the Great Commission with quality and precession (Matthew 28:16-20). At any given worship service Pastor Jonny and his team give the opportunity to sing with a quiet reverent voice or an out loud joyful voice. It is a time to exalt and to focus on this truth, “The LORD our God, the LORD is one” (Deuteronomy 6:4).
- We Worship with the sound of the Shofar, to focus us, the congregation and as a sound to return to the LORD and listen to His Voice and as a reminder of God’s Victory through His son on the Cross, Deut 30:2, Numbers 10:9, Genesis 22, Luke 23:46
- We Worship with Joy, with Shouts of Joy because we have been set free by Jesus the Christ, Proverbs 29:6.
- We Worship with Shouts of Joy, even the dead will do that when they rise from their graves, Isaiah 26:19.
